+ What is Kickass Picnics?

We take picnics to the next level by going out into the wilderness and hiking to a magical spot where a delicious picnic will be waiting for us.

+ What’s the food like?

The food varies from picnic to picnic and from season to season, but our menus always include organic, nourishing dishes with locally-sourced ingredients, carefully designed to give you exactly what you want after playing in the wilderness. + How much does it cost?

You can find the price for each picnic by visiting our picnics page here.

+ Do I need to carry the picnic?

No. We want you to relax and enjoy yourself, so we have a separate team for that. They carry everything out to our remote picnic spot and prepare it all, we show up, everyone gets a high five, and then we eat.

+ What about COVID-19?

Your health and safety are really important to us and we follow all the recommended Covid-19 guidelines. We also require that everyone brings a mask and wears it at all times during travel to and from the trail. Fortunately, we will be spending most of the day in natural open spaces, which are really the best place to be right now and where masks are unnecessary. All of the food is prepared in a kitchen that follows every protocol and we will serve the picnic accordingly. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please get in touch. We take this pandemic very seriously and want you to feel safe, comfortable and carefree. We’ll be happy to talk you through our approach.

+ Sounds great! How do I sign up?

We offer a calendar of picnics throughout the year which you can sign up for as an individual, or as a group. We also design bespoke picnics for private groups. Do you have an idea? Get in touch.

+ Who are the guides?

Each hike is led by a certified guide to ensure the safety of the group, share knowledge of the area and lead group activities. Our guides speak both English and Spanish and are excited to share their passion for the local wilderness with you.

+ How difficult will the hike be?

In general, we offer hikes of moderate difficulty, which means participants should have some basic hiking experience. Make sure to check the difficulty level in each picnic description and get in touch with any doubts – we’ll be happy to hear from you.

+ How many people per picnic?

We like to keep our picnic groups intimate. Our ideal group size is somewhere between 7-15 people, and you can see the maximum group size for each picnic by checking out our upcoming picnics. For private picnics we can be more flexible.

+ What do I bring?

It's very, very important that you bring the right footwear, clothing, water, and in some cases extra gear (e.g. towels, hiking poles, inflatable crocodiles). Make sure you read each picnic description carefully to see what’s required.

+ Where do you picnic?

We picnic around Barcelona, and each picnic lists the location and travel time from the city center. 2.5 hours is about the maximum distance to drive in order to reach all the places we love.

+ Can I bring my dog?

We don't allow pets on our general picnics, but we do have picnics specifically designed for pets and pet owners. Should we do one with ferrets?

+ Can I bring my children?

The minimum age for our picnics is 16 years old, but we have picnics specifically designed for families.

+ What language do you speak on the picnics?

We mainly speak English, Spanish, and Spanglish, but we dabble in a handful of other languages. You can tell us how good the food tastes in any language you like!

+ What is a picnic, really?

A picnic is a fantasy that only exists in your mind. Think about it. All of the other animals are essentially picnicking all the time but they’re not making a big deal out of it. For us humans, though, it’s different. It's theater. And Kickass Picnics respects that. We want people’s eyes to glisten when they arrive at their picnic in a magical wild place.
